  1. Introduction

    The library collection comprises mainly of books, journals, conference proceedings, microform, AV materials, theses and dissertations. UML subscribes to electronic resources such as e-journals, e-books, citation indexes, and bibliographic management software.

  2. Open Stack / General Collection

    The open stack collection consists of textbooks and monographs of various subjects acquired to support learning, teaching and research needs of the University. All academic staff, students and valid registered members of the Library are allowed to borrow from this collection.



  3. References

    Reference sources such as dictionaries, encyclopedias, handbooks, directories and resource guides to research are available.



  4. Journals

    UML subscribes to most of the core journals in various subject areas. Current issues and back issues (bound journals) are kept separately.



  5. Theses and Dissertations

    The collection consists of theses and dissertations of postgraduate students of the University of Malaya and also selected titles from the National University of Singapore. This is a closed access collection.



  6. Academic Core Collection (Redspot)

    Academic Reserve Collection consists of text book, suggested by lecturer for their students.

  7. Free Range Reading

    Light novels and reading collection such as motivational, biography and others written in English or Malay language. These are placed facing service counters at Level 1, Main Library.



  8. Electronic Databases

    The Library subscribes to major electronic databases in various subject areas. These electronic databases include e-journals, e-books and citation indexes. It can be accessed via the Library interaktif Portal at http://www.diglib.um.edu.my/interaktif. Click here for electronic databases subscribed by the Library.
