General InformationAt a Glance

The University of Malaya Library was established in 1959 and has a total collection of more than a million titles up to date. UM Library consists of a Main Library which provides library facilities for the whole campus and a network of branch and special libraries to meet the specific and special needs of some faculties.

The collection comprises of books, journals, conference proceedings, audio video, microform, theses and dissertations. UML also offers access to electronic resources such as e-journals, databases, citation indexes, and bibliographic management software.

The library is headed by the Chief Librarian, with a complement of professional librarians, support and technical staff.
